In this research, the focus is on the of international trade in shaping the sustainability of global food systems. A systematic review will be conducted, evaluating the environmental, economic, and social impacts of agri-food trade on sustainability. The second part of the work involves enhancing a GTAP model to analyze how trade policies influence resource utilization and sustainability outcomes, with a particular emphasis on water resources and a case study illustrating these effects within a specific context.
